ACELLA Construction breaks ground on new Community Nursery School in Lexington

NORWELL, MA. (October 12, 20102010)—ACELLA Construction announced today that it has begun construction of the new Community Nursery School (CNS) in Lexington MA.  The new building, which will be located on the same site at 2325 Massachusetts Ave., will include an updated floor plan with classrooms off a central hallway. The plan also calls for additional meeting space, a library, an art studio, and music space.

The new school is scheduled to open its doors next fall. While construction is ongoing on Massachusetts Avenue, the school and students have been relocated to temporary space in Trinity Covenant Church on Clematis Road.

“We’re excited to break ground on this project,” said David Dirubbo, President of ACELLA Construction.  “When completed, this new school will give the CNS family a great new home to continue their important mission of fostering social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.”

CNS began with a small group of families in 1943, with a goal to provide a quality nursery school experience for children in the years between infancy and public school.  In 1947, CNS moved into a building on its own 2 acres of land in Lexington and was incorporated as a nonprofit cooperative institution.

The project is being designed by LDa Architecture & Interiors of Cambridge MA.
