BROCKTON, MA. (November 9, 2010) Cardinal Spellman High School, which serves students from 40 different communities, broke ground today for their new Fitness Center, which will be the first new building at the regional Catholic High School in more than 50 years.
The 5,000-square-foot center is set to open in 2011. “We’re honored to be working with Dr. John McEwan and his team on this project,” said David Dirubbo, President of Acella Construction. “My wife graduated from Cardinal Spellman, so this project is very near and dear to both of us.” The $1.4 million fitness center will also include a new weight room, offices for the athletic department, a trainer’s room and a home for the school’s athletic Hall of Fame. The facility will be open for use by students, staff and faculty.
The architect for the project is Ai3 of Wayland MA.
