Acella Construction was chosen by the Old Colony Council chapter of the Boy Scouts of America to manage the design and construction of their new dining facility, located at Camp Squanto in Myles Standish State Forest. Design began in the spring of 2011, and construction was completed in the spring of 2012. Acella Construction managed the demolition of the original dining facility, which was built in 1950, and constructed a new 11,500 s.f. facility. This new facility includes a modern commercial kitchen, seating for more than 500 scouts, several outdoor decks for additional seating as well as a separate conference area for meetings.
Camp Squanto is a 650-acre camping facility located in Plymouth, MA. During the summer months, the trained staff runs a high quality, complete, long-term camping experience for troops and individuals totaling nearly 2,000. The camp attracts 20,000 weekend visitors annually.
