NEEDHAM and NORWELL, MA, ISSUED MARCH 14, 2014…David Dirubbo, president of Acella Construction, a construction management firm specializing in full service turn-key construction, design-build and pre-construction services for the commercial, institutional and educational sectors, was a guest last week on “Radio Entrepreneurs,” where he talked about how he came to start his own business, Acella’s competitive advantages, and construction trends.
Radio Entrepreneurs interviews can be heard nightly from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, on WBNW 1120 AM, WPLM 1390 AM, and WESO 970 AM. Radio Entrepreneurs shares the stories of entrepreneurs in the interest of giving more exposure to innovative and fast-moving companies while creating a knowledge pool for the enrichment of the entrepreneurial community around the world. The show is broadcast daily and the individuals in the interviews are entrepreneurs from various backgrounds, all supported by the Money Matters radio staff, social media, the Mage team, and the show’s host, Jeffrey Davis. The conversation is their story: the story of who they are and how they became an entrepreneur. To learn more about Radio Entrepreneurs, please visit www.radioentrepreneurs.com. Studios are at 144 Gould Street, Needham, MA.
Dirubbo explained to host Jeffrey Davis about the focus of Acella Construction and the competitive advantage of Acella as an open shop. Dirubbo also touched on popular construction trends, such as incorporating more green practices into projects, as well as the challenges of the recent recession, and what his company did to maintain the company through that time.
Dirubbo talked about how the company was very productive and then, in 2007, “the economy just turned around, and we’ve had to develop more efficiencies from what we thought was an already efficient company. We’re much leaner now…productivity is up.”
When asked if he felt if he made the right choice in starting his own company, Dirubbo responded, “Absolutely. I don’t regret a day. It’s a great experience to go to work every day with people you love to work with and succeed together.”
He continued, “It was a great opportunity to be on Radio Entrepreneurs, and I thank the team for giving us the chance to come on the show and tell our story.”
Working with Acella was great. They were always available to answer my questions and they kept me in the loop every step of the way. They were very flexible and patient and worked around our working schedule – sometimes coming in very early in the morning. Their work turned out wonderfully and they even painted a large wall that was not part of the scope to get the whole space looking shiny and new. This was my first renovation project and they made me look good! I would highly recommend Acella.
