CHESTNUT HILL and NORWELL, MA, ISSUED OCTOBER 24, 2014…Acella Construction Corporation (www.acellaconstruction.com), a construction management firm serving the region for more than a decade, recently oversaw the two-phase renovation of Boston College’s popular Modular Housing Complex.
Site work on the education project, led by Senior Project Manager Saul Schrader and Superintendent Scott Brash, was completed last month in time for the beginning of the fall semester. The buildings in the Modular Housing Complex consist of duplexes and quads that are located in the center of BC’s campus. The renovation required new fire protection systems to be retrofitted throughout 44 of the residential units including new piping, sprinkler heads and necessary fire alarm work.
Dave Dirubbo, president of Acella Construction, said, “We have a great deal of experience working with educational institutions, and we understand that these environments’ requirements are sometimes different from the more typical construction job. Timing of the project is crucial so as not to disrupt the school year, and safety is paramount, especially given the number of students these projects impact.
“We were happy to partner with Boston College once again to help make these popular housing options safer and more modern, while meeting their timeframe,” added Dirubbo.
