NORWELL and WOBURN, MA, ISSUED JUNE 19, 2015. Acella Construction Corporation was recently named a Gold Safety, Training, and Evaluation Process (S.T.E.P.) Award recipient at the 11th Annual Gould Construction Institute Safety and Education Dinner. The S.T.E.P. Awards are presented annually to Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) Member companies with exceptional safety records; this year’s applicant pool was fiercely competitive. Applicants are critiqued on a number of statistical factors such as incident rates, lost time, and OSHA recordables, combined with a safety audit consisting of 20 key components.
This year Acella took home the Gold S.T.E.P. Award in recognition of its outstanding commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for their workforce.
Barbara Lagergren, president of the Gould Construction Institute, said, “A contractor’s most valuable resource is their workers. There is nothing more important than jobsite safety. Tonight’s award recipients deserve each and every accolade they received by continuing to raise the standards of safety, training, and education throughout the construction industry.”
Dave Dirubbo, president of Acella, said, “Just as we are working hard to build better for our clients, we also emphasize an environment of building better with our team. A safe environment is critical to that endeavor, and we appreciate being recognized for our efforts.”
Working with Acella was great. They were always available to answer my questions and they kept me in the loop every step of the way. They were very flexible and patient and worked around our working schedule – sometimes coming in very early in the morning. Their work turned out wonderfully and they even painted a large wall that was not part of the scope to get the whole space looking shiny and new. This was my first renovation project and they made me look good! I would highly recommend Acella.
