Acella Construction’s Krista Evans selected for Banker & Tradesman “Women of FIRE” award; recognized for achievement and success

PEMBROKE, MA, ISSUED AUGUST 10, 2018…Krista Evans, a Lakeville, MA resident and Project Manager at Acella Construction Corporation (www.acellaconstruction.com), was recently honored at a ceremony hosted by Banker & Tradesman and AmBizMedia as a 2018 recipient of the “Women of FIRE” award.

This was the 8th annual Women of FIRE (finance, insurance, real estate) celebration. From the many nominations received over the last several months by readers of Banker & Tradesman, seventeen women were selected, according to the judges, because they “stood out from the crowd.” In a special supplement published to honor the recipients, the editors wrote, “These women have shown substantial success in their field…a commitment to professional and personal growth. These women are mentors, philanthropists, leaders and innovators. They devote their time and their hard work to making their companies and their communities a better place for all.”

Evans oversees a number of key functions at Acella, which is experiencing rapid growth. She schedules and runs client meetings, drafts and manages client contracts and oversees purchase orders, subcontractor selection and owner requisitions. The graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth began her career in a different industry, as a fund accountant at J.P. Morgan. When she sought a different career path, she joined Acella in 2012 as a receptionist and worked her way up through the company.

Her role in the last six y ears has expanded exponentially. Dave Dirubbo, CEO of Acella Construction, says, “Krista is a “go to” person in our company, managing and overseeing projects for some of our biggest clients, including Northeastern University and MIT.”

In addition to her role as a Project Manager, she led the company’s conversion over to the Procore construction management software platform, from research to implementation.

Dirubbo added, “Krista is a rising star in our organization. She literally worked her way up from the ground floor and is absolutely an integral part of our team. We are all very proud of her for this recognition of her exceptional talents.”

Evans was on hand at the Boston ceremony to receive the award in person, handed to her by Banker & Tradesman Associate Publisher Cassidy Murphy. In addition to being selected for this honor, Evans had another major event in her life – the birth of her daughter, Hayden, only a week before the awards ceremony. For the record, both mother and daughter were in attendance.

Working with Acella was great. They were always available to answer my questions and they kept me in the loop every step of the way. They were very flexible and patient and worked around our working schedule – sometimes coming in very early in the morning. Their work turned out wonderfully and they even painted a large wall that was not part of the scope to get the whole space looking shiny and new. This was my first renovation project and they made me look good! I would highly recommend Acella.
