PEMBROKE and WEYMOUTH, MA, ISSUED FEBRUARY 21, 2020… Acella Construction Corporation (www.acellaconstruction.com), a leader in construction management throughout greater Boston, announces completion of an expansion project for South Coastal Animal Health in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
The 1,500 square foot ground up addition to the existing animal health care facility, located at 1389 Main Street in Weymouth, includes four new examination rooms and an expanded treatment area to allow the staff at South Coastal Animal Health to treat multiple patients simultaneously. The project encompassed a fire sprinkler retrofit into the existing building to accommodate the new overall footage, per code requirements. The facility’s parking lot was also expanded to satisfy patients’ request for additional spaces.
South Coastal Animal Health remained open and operational throughout the entire construction process, thanks to Acella Construction’s experience and skill with working in occupied environments.
Medcom Architectural Group, LLC headquartered in Bourne, served as architect for the $800,000 construction project. Merrill Associates, Inc. of Plymouth was the civil engineering firm of record and Griffith & Vary, Inc. of Wareham provided consulting engineering services.
South Coastal Animal Health opened its doors in July of 2006, is privately owned and operated and prides itself on being a state-of-the-art veterinary practice with a personal touch.
“It was a pleasure to again partner with South Coastal Animal Health and help expand a facility that has served so many pets and their families for 14 years,” said Ryan LaVangie, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Acella Construction Corporation, noting that Acella oversaw ground up construction of the facility’s original 7,900 square foot building in 2009.
The Acella team, led by Scott Brash, the project superintendent, and several huge time saving ideas by Anthony Dirubbo, allowed us to complete our 14,200 s/f building on time. I have never worked with a better superintendent than Scott – as he performed miracles on a daily basis. If you are contemplating building a club house, please take the time to call Dave Dirubbo, Acella’s president and make an appointment. You will not be disappointed.
